I am a school teacher living near Nelson and my primary goal this year is to gain offshore sailing experience in preparation for my own bluewater cruising with my family, including two children, next year. I am particularly interested in cruising opportunities with an experienced skipper who is willing to share their knowledge and expertise.

My sailing experience includes extensive cruising along the UK south coast, including several Channel crossings, as well as holidays in the Ionian and Aegean Islands (Greece). While much of this experience was gained over 20 years ago, I have recently been actively sailing with my family in the Nelson/Tasman Bay area.

Qualifications:

• RYA VHF Marine Radio Course
• RYA Day Skipper (Practical)
• recently obtained my Coastal and Offshore Medic certifications.
• I am currently enrolled in the Advanced Sea Survival Course (September 2025)
• Actively studying for the Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Offshore Theory Course with NavatHome.
