I have a couple of seasons experience sailing on Otago Harbour and central Otago Lakes, including cruising, club racing, and maintaining my own trailer yacht (Compass Careel), along with some coastal sailing experience on keelboats. I’m also a current committee member of the Otago Yacht Club, involved in club sailing, teaching the adult sailing school, and supporting the wider sailing community. I hold a Maritime NZ STCW Elementary First Aid qualification, A Coastguard Day Skipper certificate, a Maritime VHF Operator’s Certificate, Advanced Open Water Diving Certification (PADI/SSI) and am currently enroled for my Advanced Sea Survival qualification in early April.
I have strong general sailing skills, including sail handling and helming, along with practical maintenance abilities and a calm, problem-solving mindset. I’m a fast learner, eager to adapt to new systems and yachts, and highly motivated to build offshore experience.
I’m seeking opportunities to crew on a yacht heading to/from the South Pacific, ideally as part of the 2026 rally. I’m happy to take on new roles and challenges onboard and contribute to learn from an experienced skipper, gain meaningful offshore experience, and further develop my skills.
