Over many years of supporting our members throughout the Pacific and beyond, Island Cruising has assisted with numerous unexpected and challenging situations, giving us a depth of real-world experience across a wide range of scenarios. Through this, we’ve built a strong network of trusted local contacts, service providers, officials and maritime professionals, enabling us to help resolve most issues efficiently and responsibly — often in places where reliable information and help can be difficult to access.

Rally participants receive this level of support as part of their rally entry.

If you’re cruising independently and find yourself needing urgent assistance, advocacy, or support, Island Cruising can offer professional advice as part of our rally package inclusions to help you assess your situation and identify appropriate next steps.

In some circumstances, support requests from non-rally vessels can place pressure on rally participants to assist, or potentially expose them to additional risk. 

If you are in distress, you should contact the local Rescue Coordination Centre directly and they will manage the response. 

Our primary responsibility always remains with the safety and wellbeing of our registered rally fleet. We invest significant time in preparing rally participants to safely undertake their voyage by providing training, information on rules and regulations, planning resources to prevent issues from arising and our dedicated team offers ongoing support should any issues arise.  Our duty of care and support is always with those who have formally joined the rally.

To ensure we can continue to offer high-quality, responsive support and advocacy, we invite those requiring our assistance to join the rally. You can join at any time. Our support services are delivered as part of our rally and membership-based framework, which enables us to dedicate the appropriate time, expertise, and duty of care to every situation.

Join the rally from the outset.

If you are planning a cruising adventure, our rally content will help you to safely prepare, you, your crew and your vessel for the adventures ahead. We will connect you with the community heading your way, ensure you understand all local rules and regulations, and support you when any issues arise — before, during, and after your voyage.

Should you require our support while cruising, we invite you to join the rally so we can provide you with professional, dedicated advice, and quickly connect you to our cruising community and trusted services. This ensures you can access our rally resources, your questions are answered promptly & correctly and that any issues are addressed efficiently.

We expect all the rally participants to obey the law, demonstrate sound seamanship and respect the local culture and environment.

Prefer to Manage Your Response Yourself?

For those who choose not to join the rally to engage our professional rally support services, we strongly encourage having a clear emergency response plan in place. In any distress situation, contact your local Rescue Coordination Centre immediately. For mechanical, towing, salvage, or damage-related issues, your insurance company can often provide guidance and arrange appropriate professional assistance.
